Attention all parents who feed hockey players -
How many
times have you driven a hungry hockey player home from the ice rink and
wondered what on earth you would feed the kid? We’re working to solve
this common concern – and make some money in the process.
The
Winnetka/New Trier/Wilmette Hockey Clubs are producing a cookbook
designed to help busy hockey families get goal-producing meals on the
table with a minimum of fuss. All proceeds from the sale of the
cookbook will be contributed directly to the new North Shore Ice Arena.
But we need your help!
We are
currently collecting recipes to include in the new cookbook – Feed
Your Face Off. If you have a favorite recipe or two you would like
to share, please go to
www.gandrpublishing.com and complete the recipe submission form as
quickly as possible. Log in with the username
faceoff1 and the password 1234
to begin typing in your recipe and other information.
Our recipe
collection deadline is May 4th so don’t warm the bench, just get
it done. If your recipe is chosen, you’ll be making hockey players
happy for years to come.
We are
seeking recipes that the average time starved hockey parent can put
together in a reasonable amount of time. And, they must be tasty enough
to tempt our families to the training table.
We are
gathering recipes for the following categories:
Warm Ups
– appetizers and snacks
Blue Line
Specials – main dishes
Off Sides
- side dishes
Sudden
Death – desserts, of course
Power Play
– carbo-loading recipes to serve before big games
If you are
not blessed with culinary skills, there is another way your family can
contribute to this project. We are also collecting children’s
illustrations to decorate the different sections of Feed Your Face
Off.
Click here to print a form where your child can draw a picture about
life at the rink. Drawings can be dropped off at the Winnetka or
Wilmette hockey rinks in specially designated drop boxes decorated with
the Feed Your Face Off cookbook cover. The deadline for the
artwork drop off is also May 4th.
Once again,
go to www.gandrpublishing.com
now to find an easy to follow recipe form. Hockey anecdotes related to
submitted recipes are greatly welcomed. And, please remember to include
your name and a recipe title!
Thanks for
helping us make Feed Your Face Off a fun, unique and profitable
collection of favorite family fare.
If you have
any questions please contact Melinda, Michaela or Susan at the e-mail
addresses provided above.
See you at
the rink. |
